Multi-time women’s champion shockingly turns heel on AEW Collision
A top AEW star has just turned heel for the first time in years. She suffered a significant loss on this week's AEW Collision.
The name in question is Serena Deeb. For the past few weeks, The Professor and Queen Aminata have shared a few tense moments backstage. This started when the two were part of the four-way match to decide Mercedes Moné's next challenger.
Neither woman was successful, but they seemingly took an interest in one another. Tonight, both of them were in action, with Aminata facing Robyn Renegade and Deeb locking horns with the returning Yuka Sakazaki. They both wanted to show off their skills in their respective matches.
Yuka pulled off an upset, pinning Serena Deeb clean. Moments later, she was interviewed backstage, clearly frustrated by her loss. To make matters worse, Queen Aminata walked up to her, gloating.
It was Aminata's turn right after, and she ended up securing the win over Renegade. Before she could even celebrate, she was blindsided by Deeb. The former NWA World Women's Champion then locked in a submission hold on Aminata's knee and didn't let go until the referees got involved.
This may be the start of what could be an interesting feud on AEW Collision. It remains to be seen how Queen Aminata will retaliate after the beatdown.
