Multiple stars could be in danger if former AEW champion joins The Hurt Syndicate, WWE veteran says

WWE veteran Jim Cornette believes that if Powerhouse Hobbs were to join The Hurt Syndicate, the stable would be unstoppable in AEW. The former TNT Champion returned to action on Dynamite last week.

Hobbs was absent from TV due to an injury he suffered during a match against Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship back in April. The doctors cleared him for action in September, but he returned last week on Dynamite. He was Ricochet's mystery opponent, and they defeated the team of Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita on the Wednesday show.

On the recent episode of his Drive Thru podcast, Jim Cornette expressed his dissatisfaction with how Tony Khan brought the 33-year-old star back into action. He felt the returning star's comeback on Dynamite fell short of expectations. He added if MVP recruits the former TNT Champion to his Hurt Syndicate faction, the group would become much stronger.

"Maybe that's a card that MVP needs to hand out because then well the whole rest of the f**king roster could just say f**k it, we're going home with those three guys, and the manager can whip half of the f**king roster even in a working way much less as a shoot." [3:24 - 3:44]

MVP teased the fourth member of The Hurt Syndicate

Bobby Lashley debuted at Fright Night Dynamite to reunite with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. The Hurt Syndicate then took down Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana.

In a recent interview with Close Up with Renee Paquette, the former United States Champion teased the joining of a fourth member.

"And for a while, I'd been talking to Bobby, saying, "We have to go do this.." And at that point, Shelton [Benjamin] was already independent, and one piece of the puzzle is there, we're the other two, and we can pick up the fourth. We have to go do this, and we had a number of conversations where I was like, 'Listen, man. We have to go do this,' and fortunately, he came around."
