MVP spotted with two WWE veterans shortly after AEW debut
MVP was spotted with two former WWE Superstars a few days after his shocking appearance during AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. This also came amidst rumors that he was creating his own faction. The former stars in question would be Shelton Benjamin and Chavo Guerrero.
This past Wednesday on Dynamite, the former manager of the Hurt Business confronted Prince Nana. He believed he was better suited to manage Swerve Strickland and asked him to pass along his business card. There has been speculation that the former WWE faction will reunite in AEW for a while now, as three of its four former members are now free agents.
On Instagram, MVP posted a picture of himself with Shelton Benjamin and Chavo Guerrero as they had a mini-reunion at an in-person signing event. All three men were popular icons during their run in WWE from the 2000s to the early 2010s.
"It was great getting to catch up with @chavoguerrerojr while doing a signing with @sheltyb803 in Lodi, California. These guys I can comfortably call my friends!! #ogflow #wwe #smackdown #ruthlessaggression #classic," the veteran wrote.
Shelton Benjamin says he's open to going to AEW
A couple of months ago, Shelton Benjamin was asked what his next major career move would be, seeing as he was a free agent after being released by WWE in September last year.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, the former Intercontinental Champion opened up about his career options and mentioned considering AEW, TNA, and MLW. He admitted that despite this, he hadn't found exactly what he was looking for.
"I had a brief conversation with AEW, that hasn't really borne fruit yet. But I'm still open. TNA I haven't spoken with yet. I'm more than willing to work with them. I haven't talked to them. I know MLW reached out. So you know, I've been presented with options. I just haven't found something that I'm satisfied with," he said.
Shelton has been linked to joining All Elite Wrestling, as the rest of his former faction mates in the Hurt Business have reportedly been in talks with the promotion.
With MVP debuting this past week, it remains to be seen if this is an indication that he and Bobby Lashley are on the way.
