New threat awaits Tony Khan with disappointing AEW update from last week

A major AEW factor hit a new low following a massive report last week. Ratings and viewership have been issues for the Tony Khan-led promotion for the past year, as Dynamite, Collision, and Rampage failed to increase their weekly audience. Last week, Rampage garnered its lowest ratings.

Rampage, which airs on Friday night for one hour, is reportedly closing before the end of 2024 after the AEW-WBD deal was announced. Also, the show hasn't drawn a massive audience for many months. The recent edition of Rampage featured five matches.

La Faccion Ingobernable won against Butcher, Beef, and JD Drake in a trios contest. Also, Taya Valkyrie defeated Zoey Lynn in a squash contest. The third bout saw Queen Aminata defeat Leila Grey in an entertaining bout. Later, Top Flight defeated Dark Order after Action Andretti used heelish tactics. In the night's main event, Lio Rush defeated Komander in a great contest.

While the Rampage episode had great stories and matches, as per Wrestlenomics, the show drew its lowest ratings ever. The show garnered a 172,000 total audience and was rated 0.05 among the 18-49 demographics.

It will be interesting to see if AEW Rampage manages to draw more eyes to the product next week.
