New TNT Champion finally crowned after AEW forced Adam Copeland (fka Edge) to vacate his titleĀ

A controversial AEW star won his first singles title in almost ten months following a gruesome match that took place tonight at this year's Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The star who won is Jack Perry.

At Forbidden Door, the TNT Championship was up for grabs in a six-man ladder match. Each wrestler earned a shot for the title after winning their respective qualifying matches. This comes a month after Adam Copeland was stripped of the title because he sustained a serious injury at AEW Double or Nothing.

Apart from The Scapegoat, Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, Lio Rush, and El Phantasmo were part of the match. Neither of these men has ever held the title in the past.

There were several close calls for the match as some of the wrestlers were fingertips away from capturing the title. At a point in the match, it seemed as if Konosuke Takeshita was to become champion, with the crowd rallying behind him, but Mark Briscoe would be in his way.

After that, it seemed as if Mark Briscoe was the next champion until Jack Perry emerged amidst the chaos to blindside Briscoe, climbed to the top, and grabbed the title.

Now, all the members of The Elite are champions in AEW, and they achieved exactly what they set out to do.
