Nic Nemeth advises AEW to pull top star from TV

Former WWE star Nic Nemeth has urged AEW to pull Mercedes Mone from television for some time. The CEO is the current TBS Champion.

Mercedes Mone has been positioned as one of the biggest female signings in AEW in recent memory. She won the TBS Championship in her in-ring debut at Double or Nothing and later captured the NJPW Strong Women's Title at Forbidden Door. The erstwhile Sasha Banks also reportedly has creative freedom in the Tony Khan-led promotion.

In a recent appearance on the Busted Open podcast, reigning TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth said that Mercedes Mone should be kept off television for some time as her return would shock people and make her feel fresh in the eyes of fans.

"Even if you cheered for them 9.5 out of 10, when [wrestlers] come back and make that return, catch you off guard, or you're excited about the return, it becomes a 10 out of 10. That really helps the product stay fresh for everybody," Nemeth said. [H/T: WrestlingINC]

Nic Nemeth further shared his thoughts on Mercedes Mone's rumored AEW salary

The CEO is reportedly one of the highest-paid female stars in pro wrestling history. Many have reacted to the reports of her salary and slammed Tony Khan for paying her a significant amount.

In the same episode, Nic Nemeth shared his thoughts on the topic. The former WWE Superstar said:

"You sometimes hear a football player making this much money or getting this signing bonus, and then maybe not leading the league in sacks or something like that. But when it comes to something like this, it's so much easier to be like, 'This better be an eleven out of ten every time you're out there, or every time you cut a promo, or every time you have an appearance, because if not, I'm going to be thinking in the back of my head, 'You're making this money, and my favorite isn't,' or something like that. So I could see where people would have that in the back of their minds." [H/T:WrestlingINC]

We will have to wait and see when Tony Khan will push Mercedes Mone into the main event scene in AEW's Women's Division.
