Nigel McGuinness explains how he convinced Tony Khan to book him against Bryan Danielson at AEW Grand Slam
Nigel McGuinness explained how he convinced All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan to book him in a match against Bryan Danielson at AEW Grand Slam. He revealed it on the latest episode of Collision.
The Englishman and Bryan have a long and storied history together, and he has been constantly hinting that he wants to take on the former WWE star in a match. He confirmed his intention on this week’s Dynamite.
On Collision tonight, Nigel McGuinness explained how he convinced Tony Khan to sanction this match.
"When Jon Moxley convinced Darby Allin to put his title opportunity on the line, he did it out of pure speculation. Which is what I said to Tony Khan. There's no way that we can know Bryan Danielson won't be able to show up at Grand Slam. So I said, if he is, with Darby Allin no longer able to face him, I would like to," he said. [0:15 - 0:36]
After that, Nigel McGuinness sent out a warning to AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson and vowed to end his career.
“Don't worry Bryan. Win, lose, or draw, you will leave Arthur Ashe with the AEW World Title. But let's not make any bones about it. You show up, I am going to try to end your career. The ball is in your court, Bryan,” he concluded. [1:59 - 2:29]
It will be interesting to see how the match develops, given the long-term animosity between the two stars.
