"Not that kind of Diddy" - Former WWE stars reveal new poses after AEW Grand Slam announcement
AEW will present its fourth annual Grand Slam tapings this coming Wednesday. The special show is a hot topic of discussion this week, but problematic entertainer Diddy is also dominating news headlines recently. However, a former WWE team managed to drop a Diddy tie-in ahead of their Grand Slam debuts.
MxM Collection debuted with AEW and ROH in July, and are now feuding with The Acclaimed. Mansoor and Mace Madden are set to reveal an extreme makeover for Max Caster on the inaugural Collision: Grand Slam special next weekend. The former Maximum Male Models were inactive for most of their last year with WWE, but it seems they are quickly becoming a top midcard act for Tony Khan.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs is no stranger to pro wrestling. He is currently battling multiple federal charges, but his 34-year career included a few WWE connections. Combs provided a theme song for WrestleMania 29 in 2013 and performed live. He curated the WWE 2K17 soundtrack, tackled Rey Mysterio at Tribute to the Troops 2010, co-hosted a Superstars For Sandy Relief party with Vince McMahon in 2013, served as RAW guest host in 2016, and became a Be a STAR Ambassador to work with the global juggernaut against bullying in 2013.
MxM Collection spoke with RJ City on AEW's latest "Hey! (EW)" episode. The former ma.çé and mån.sôör were asked to show their classic poses, or their newest since becoming All Elite. Mansoor began with a ditty, or a short performance, but quickly made it clear that he was not speaking of the incarcerated mogul.
"There's this old ditty... not that kind of Diddy," Mansoor said. [From 11:17 to 11:21]
Madden quickly backed him up on that clarification with what has become a viral two-word phrase on social media in recent years.
"No Diddy," Mace Madden said, shaking his head. [From 11:22 to 11:23]
MxM Collection has AEW losses against FTR, The House of Black, and Top Flight, but they also defeated Private Party. The duo won all three of their ROH matches: two against enhancement talents, one against Spanish Announce Project.
AEW announces return and big title match
All Elite Wrestling will present its Dynamite fifth Anniversary special on October 2 from Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh. This will be the 261st episode.
Dynamite is set to be headlined by Ricochet challenging International Champion Will Ospreay for the title. The longtime rivals have teased another in-ring showdown since long before the high flyer left WWE this summer.
Britt Baker will also make her big hometown comeback on the Dynamite Five-Year Anniversary show. She has not wrestled since losing to Mercedes Moné at All In.
