Orange Cassidy responds to questions about bringing a classic character to AEW: "I don't know who that is" (Exclusive)

AEW's roster has no shortage of talented names, yet Orange Cassidy sits rightfully near the top. He recently talked about a certain character that fans have been asking him to bring back, and he had an interesting comment about it.

Orange Cassidy is one of the talents on the roster who has been around since the start of the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2019. According to him, the criticism that the company gets at times is often blown out of proportion. He was recently asked about whether AEW was what he expected, to which he had a straightforward response.

During an exclusive interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda, Orange Cassidy stated:

"Yes and so much more. I think it's, I think AEW is, it's only been around for 5 years. We are still growing, we are still learning, and it's great to be a part of it." [From 05:50 onwards]

He was also asked about Fire Ant, a gimmick he had during his days in Chikara. However, Orange pretended not to know him at all and said:

"I don't know who that is. People bring it up all the time but if I do run into Fire Ant, I'll let him know." [From 06:15 onwards]

The AEW star has also responded to criticism against him

Veterans have often criticized Orange Cassidy's seemingly laid-back wrestling style, as he appears to break the suspension of disbelief. However, he thinks that his critics have probably never seen him wrestle.

In the same interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, the AEW star explained:

"Very much so... Some of those old-school wrestler types say that I am not respecting the business or respecting professional wrestling. I tend to think they have never seen me wrestle, and they don't know what they are talking about." [From 04:07 onwards]

With Cassidy losing his title shot against Jon Moxley at Full Gear last weekend, it remains to be seen what is next for him in All Elite Wrestling.
