Paul Wight (fka The Big Show) as AEW World Champion? Fans call out massive blunder
Paul Wight, formerly known as Big Show, signed with AEW in 2021. He was one of the first ex-WWE stars to join the Tony Khan-led company. However, thus far, the 52-year-old has featured in only a handful of matches.
During his time in WWE, Wight won the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Moreover, he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice when he was signed with the promotion from 1995 to 1999. He has yet to procure a championship in AEW, however, fans noticed something bizarre when they typed his name on Google.
Apparently, if you type "Paul Wight" or "Big Show" on Google, the first image that is showcased is an edited photo of the seven-footer with the AEW World Championship on his shoulder. This is a blunder because the former WWE Superstar is nowhere near the title picture. It cannot be said if he will win the title in the future, however, hopefully, the aforementioned error can be fixed. If it is not fixed, it could be confusing for new fans of the Jacksonville-based promotion.
It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the WWE legend.
Paul Wight revealed that Sting saved him from being ribbed by Hulk Hogan during his WCW days
Hulk Hogan and Sting were two of the biggest names in WCW. Interestingly, according to Paul Wight, The Hulkster tried to rib him after the former won a championship belt. However, Sting came to the 52-year-old's rescue.
"This is blonde haired Sting with the razor shades. He comes over to me after I'm with the security, he goes, ‘What are you doing?’ I said, ‘What?’ He goes, ‘Why are you wearing the title?’ I said, ‘Well, Hulk told me to wear it to the airport, let everybody know that I'm the new champ.’ He goes, ‘Put it in your bag, you look like an idiot. He's ribbing you,’ and he walked off and I was like, ‘Aw, he's making fun of me,'" Paul Wight said. [H/T Fightful]
Paul Wight has not featured in a single AEW match in 2024. Hopefully, Tony Khan has some big plans for The World's Largest Athlete and he gets to face some of the top names in the company.
