Paul Wight (fka The Big Show) returns to AEW after 255-days in a surprising new roleĀ
Paul Wight (fka The Big Show) made his AEW return tonight in a new role. This was his first appearance in around eight and a half months.
Tonight, he was present at Battle of the Belts XI as he joined the commentary team for the match to crown the new ROH Six-Man tag champions. The match featured Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs taking on The Undisputed Kingdom.
A few days ago, during ROH TV, Paul Wight was revealed to be joining the promotion's Board of Directors. He was also part of those who made some booking decisions for last night's Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
Before tonight's Battle of the Belts main event took place, the four men on commentary were shown. Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness were joined by Ian Riccaboni, who worked ROH commentary. Paul Wight was seen to be the guest color commentator for the match.
Wight has not been seen on AEW TV in any capacity for more than eight months now. He was last seen during a Street Fight on November 15, 2023, during which he, along with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Kota Ibushi, faced off against The Don Callis Family and Brian Cage.
It remains to be seen whether Wight will make any in-ring returns, as he seems to have shifted to remaining an authoritative figure.
