[PHOTO] Abadon gets a new tattoo amid AEW absence
AEW star Abadon has been absent from the company's programming for the past six months. They last faced Skye Blue and Taya Valkyrie in two different matches at the 2024 Jericho Cruise, an event jointly promoted by Chris Jericho and All Elite Wrestling.
Since February 2024, the face-painted star has sporadically wrestled in Ring of Honor. They also appeared at an independent event called LLL High Strangeness, defeating Japanese professional wrestler Miyu Yamashita.
The AEW star's last match took place on the May 30 edition of ROH on HonorClub, where they teamed up with Lady Frost and Leyla Hirsch in a losing effort against Alex Windsor, Diamante, and Marina Shafir.
Amid Abadon's absence from AEW TV, a tattoo artist named Deron Jones revealed on his Instagram profile that the former recently got a new tattoo. The mesmerizing artwork features a large feline holding a branch of leaves in its paws.
Abadon received praise for their gimmick from inaugural AEW World Champion Chris Jericho
In 2020, after Abadon made their AEW debut, they were showered with praise by former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.
The Ocho compared the face-painted star's gimmick to villains from popular horror films. He also predicted that they would become a massive name in the Tony Khan-led company.
"Abadon is this really creepy gimmick and she signed with us and she’s going to be a huge, huge force in women’s division because this looks like some kind of zombie from Evil Dead combined with Train to Busan, or something like that. So, it’s really cool stuff. So if you have not seen Abadon on AEW Dark, go look for her because she’s got a great look and it’s really believable," he said on an episode of Chris Jericho's Saturday Night Special.
Jericho added that he was a huge fan of Abadon. Besides ROH and AEW, the up-and-coming star has performed for a promotion called Rocky Mountain Pro, where they won the RMP Lockettes Championship twice.
