[Photo] Adam Cole shares a heartwarming post amid AEW absence

Top AEW star Adam Cole has been absent from in-ring action since September last year. The leader of The Undisputed Kingdom has shared a heartwarming post on social media amidst his lengthy injury-caused hiatus.

In his last appearance on AEW programming, Cole, who has been able to stand on his feet since Dynasty 2024, addressed the crowd at Double or Nothing 2024, calling out the fans for their alleged disrespect and promising to come back to the ring. However, he was interrupted by a returning MJF, who exacted vengeance on the former ROH World Champion for betraying him and for The Undisputed Kingdom, launched on him at Worlds End 2023.

Although Adam Cole has not appeared on AEW television since then, the former WWE Superstar shared a social media post on his 35th birthday. Taking to X/Twitter, Cole shared a photograph of himself with his mother and brother, alluding to his age in the caption.

"35 BayBay," Cole tweeted.

The final months of 2023 saw Adam Cole having to rely on wheelchairs and crutches after he accidentally suffered a major ankle injury while cornering his supposed best friend MJF during the latter's AEW World Championship defense against Samoa Joe on Dynamite: Grand Slam.

His partnership with Friedman came to a shocking end at Worlds End 2023 when Cole revealed himself to have been The Devil, the figure plaguing MJF and his allies on All Elite Wrestling programming.

The Panama City Playboy unveiled Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, Roderick Strong, and Wardlow as his new stablemates last year. The faction, called the Undisputed Kingdom, has had a somewhat underwhelming run in recent months, with Strong having lost his International Championship to Will Ospreay at Double or Nothing 2024, The Kingdom wrestling primarily on ROH, and Wardlow being out of action since March.

AEW President Tony Khan recently provided an update on Adam Cole

During a recent appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Khan offered a huge update on Adam Cole's status and future in AEW.

The head honcho of All Elite Wrestling claimed that the former NXT Champion is on the verge of making his in-ring comeback, although he remained mum regarding an exact timetable.

"I can't wait until Adam Cole can come back," Khan said. "I can't give you the exact time table, but he will be back. And I'm looking forward to it. It'll be great to have Adam Cole back in the ring. He is recovering, and I can't wait to have him back."

Considering that the latest report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also suggests that Cole's return is imminent, it remains to be seen when the Pennsylvania native will come back.
