PHOTO: AEW’s Swerve Strickland snapped with 3-time WWE Champion
One of AEW's top stars, Swerve Strickland, recently dropped a picture with a former WWE Champion and wrestling legend. The latter, Mick Foley, is undoubtedly one of the most widely-beloved pro wrestling personalities of all time.
Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy has built a lasting legacy through his outstanding repertoire in the squared circle across promotions like WCW, IWA, ECW, and WWE. It was in the Stamford-based company that Foley did some of his most compelling character work and was crucial in establishing a number of his peers as top stars.
The three-time former WWE Champion was recently at Columbus, Ohio for GalaxyCon Columbus. At the event, Foley once again linked up with former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. The latter posted a photograph with the 59-year-old veteran, paying tribute to the latter as a hardcore legend while seemingly also identifying himself with the label.
"Hardcore legends," wrote Swerve.

Foley, of course, is notorious for his brutal deathmatches in Japan and hardcore/no disqualification matches in WCW, ECW, and WWE. Under his various personas, but especially as Cactus Jack, Foley put on graphic but unforgettable bouts against Randy Orton, Adam Copeland, and Triple H, not to mention his iconic Hell in a Cell encounter with The Undertaker as Mankind in 1998.
Swerve, of course, is no stranger to hardcore in-ring brutality himself, as can be attested by his performance in his 2016 Hell of War match against AR Fox in Lucha Underground, and more recently, his Full Gear 2023 Texas Death Match and his All Out 2024 Lights Out Steel Cage match against arch-rival Hangman Adam Page.
AEW's Swerve Strickland is going after a former WWE Champion
Swerve Strickland recently suffered a major loss to Bobby Lashley last month at AEW Full Gear. The New Flavor has already bounced back to winning ways, however, as he made an example out of recent Hurt Syndicate prospect Max Caster for taking shots at him on this week's episode of Dynamite.
After the match, Swerve declared that things were not over between him and The All Mighty. It remains to be seen if The Realest will square off against the former WWE Champion at Worlds End 2024.
