"Play it out right" - AEW warned about The Hurt Syndicate's next possible member by Bill Apter (Exclusive)
Veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter advises AEW to be careful while adding a new member to The Hurt Syndicate. The group was formerly known as The Hurt Business in WWE.
MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin formed The Hurt Syndicate in AEW after The All Mighty became All Elite. The group is currently in a feud against Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. However, MVP has been handing out his business card to All Elite Wrestling talent to potentially recruit some new names to his faction.
In the recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast with Mac Davis, Senior Editor Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the booking of The Hurt Syndicate and questioned if the faction will snatch Swerve Strickland away from Prince Nana and add him to its lineup. He claimed that the angle could make for a compelling story on television.
"Well the big picture and the question here is, will Swerve [Strickland] gonna join MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley and steal him away from Prine Nana. I think that's a very compelling storyline but they have to stay on top of it on all the programs and play it out right." [9:40-9:53]
Teddy Long further expressed how great it is to see Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP get into important positions in All Elite Wrestling. The former SmackDown GM also spoke about the outcome if the promotion doesn't use the faction to its full potential.
"Well, we just have to see what happens man. Like I said, just great to see those guys have the opportunity to head over there and get a job and get in positions that they're in so, you don't have to worry about if they use them right. If they don't use them right, it's not gonna come out right." [9:14-9:38]

Teddy Long says AEW needs to do something different with The Hurt Syndicate
The Hurt Syndicate seems to be moving in a good direction in AEW. In the same episode, Teddy Long hoped that the promotion would continue the story and give a huge payoff at the end to the fans who have gotten invested in Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP.
"They need every TV, they need to do something different but whatever they do, it needs to be a tease where people need to say oh ok, something's gonna happen here. But, take your time in teasing it and when it does come down, it blows everybody's mind." [9:57-10:11]
It will be interesting to see if The Hurt Syndicate is dripped in gold in the upcoming months in AEW.
