Popular star confirms huge AEW return - "I'll see you soon"
A top AEW star has confirmed her highly-anticipated return to the Jacksonville-based promotion. The star in question is none other than Anna Jay.
The 26-year-old competed in this year's 5-star Grand Prix Tournament in Japan and managed to pick up some notable victories. However, the AEW star's journey in STARDOM has come to an end as she competed in her last match against Momo Kohgo and defeated her on August 31.
After her match in the finals event, Anna Jay opened up about her tour in Japan. Jay further sent a warning to the AEW roster by stating that she will bring her best to the promotion.
"Well, my last match of my first STARDOM tour. I feel a lot of things. I feel good. I feel tired, obviously... and I feel a little sad. I'm leaving this experience and while it's been the most challenging experience of my wrestling career, it's also been the most fulfilling, the most rewarding. The girls here are incredible. I can't believe that I got to work with them. Let me say this. I might not be on their level. Not yet. But I hung in there with the best of them, and that was my goal. To get better. To be doing my best here while I'm here. The best is yet to come. AEW, I'll see you soon. I feel the best I've ever felt. I'm going to use it. Thank you." [H/T: Fightful]
AEW's Anna Jay could become a star in WWE according to Konnan
WWE has signed a lot of AEW stars like Jade Cargill, Lexis King (fka Brian Pillman Jr), Ethan Page, and more. These stars have managed to turn into major players in a short time. Wrestling veteran Konnan believes female star Anna Jay could also become a top star in the Stamford-based promotion.
In an episode of his Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan claimed that Anna would have a better career in WWE rather than staying with All Elite Wrestling. He explained how Jade Cargill quickly became a top star which will likely be the scenario for Jay if she jumps ship.
"Yeah, there's a couple of people there that I think would do better in WWE and she's one of them. And I don't think she has heat because of the [Jack] Perry thing. It's just normal non-sensical AEW's what I would call it. But yeah, she has everything to be a huge star and her value is not going up staying there. Look at how fast they made Jade [Cargill] a star over there," he said.
It will be interesting to see how Anna Jay is booked in All Elite Wrestling after returning to the company.
