Popular star set for massive debut; Mercedes Mone's title reign could be in danger
A current AEW star is slated for a major match. She'll be aiming for a shot at the current TBS and NJPW Strong Women's Champion, Mercedes Mone. It will be the All Elite star's debut in a major promotion as well.
The popular star in question is none other than Anna Jay. The 26-year-old star has been a part of the AEW roster since 2020. She recently traveled to Japan to have a brief run in the STARDOM promotion. Jay made her All Elite in-ring return on a recent episode of Rampage where she defeated Robyn Renegade.
Meanwhile, Jay has been announced for her first-ever match in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. NJPW Global announced a four-way women's match to determine the No.1 contender for the NJPW Strong Women's Title at the upcoming Fighting Spirit Unleashed. Jay was announced as the first competitor in the four-way bout.

The NJPW Strong Women's Title is currently held by Mercedes Mone who has also been holding the TBS Championship. Mone won the Strong Women's Title by defeating former champion Stephanie Vaquer at the Forbidden Door PPV earlier this year.
Mercedes Mone names top WWE Superstar as her strongest opponent
Mercedes Mone recently named her former rival and top WWE Superstar, Charlotte Flair as her strongest opponent. In her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes stated the following:
"Without a doubt, Charlotte takes the top spot. This woman doesn’t even know her own strength! She’s a super athlete, and I honestly think she’s still discovering just how physically powerful she is. Charlotte is one of those wrestlers who can throw you around the ring without you even needing to assist."
Moreover, Charlotte and Mercedes had a trendsetting feud back in 2016 during their time in WWE. Only time will tell if the two women will share the ring ever again.
