Potential return match for Adam Cole teased amid lengthy AEW hiatus
Amidst his ongoing hiatus in AEW, an intriguing potential return match has been teased for Adam Cole on social media. His prospective opponent is none other than internet personality-turned-wrestler, Chris Danger.
Chris Denker is a YouTuber who is best known for his WWE 2K MyCareer Mode gameplay. The 37-year-old, for the purposes of the game, had designed a character modeled after himself, whom he named Chris Danger. Despite the popularity of his channel, Denker dove deeper into his pro-wrestling journey when he made his debut as the character Chris Danger in DPW as a manager. Taking things further, Denker also began training with former WWE Superstars Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears.
In August last year, Chris Danger issued a challenge to AEW star and noted video game enthusiast, Adam Cole, for a match. The Panama City Playboy accepted the challenge sometime afterward, with the bout being scheduled for November 2023. However, Cole would be put on the shelf due to an unfortunate ankle injury, which led to him being replaced in the match by current WWE NXT Superstar Shawn Spears. The Chairman defeated Danger at DPW World's Strongest 2023.
Adam Cole last appeared on AEW programming, notably on his feet and walking unsupported, at Double or Nothing 2024, where he was taken out by a returning and vengeful MJF. A report from last month claimed that the former ROH World Champion is "on the way back" to the squared circle.
Amidst Cole's television and in-ring hiatus, Chris Danger took to X/Twitter to share a screenshot featuring the Undisputed Kingdom member, seemingly hinting at a future bout between the two.
"[hourglass emoji," wrote Danger in the caption.

AEW star MJF unleashed vitriol against Adam Cole
Adam Cole played a key role behind MJF's babyface run in 2023, as it was the storyline of the duo's developing friendship and success as a tag team while continuing to be singles rivals that helped solidify Friedman's turn. However, the former NXT Champion shockingly betrayed The Salt of the Earth after the latter lost the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End 2023.
MJF regressed to his evil ways earlier this year sometime after his Double or Nothing 2024 comeback by destroying Daniel Garcia. The Wolf of Wrestling, discussing his stint as a face in 2023 in a recent interview with Cultaholic, accused Adam Cole of convincing him to change and open up to fans. However, Friedman emphasized that he had learned his lesson from Cole's betrayal, and lashed out at the latter with some shocking words.
It remains to be seen when Adam Cole will make his comeback to pro wrestling, and whether he will go after Friedman and his AEW American Title.
