Potential update on Bobby Lashley reuniting with veterans in AEW upon WWE exit - Reports
According to a recent report, Bobby Lashley could reunite with veterans in AEW after leaving WWE. The report was presented by Dave Meltzer.
Just a while ago, FightFul Select had reported that The All Mighty might be on his way out of WWE soon. His contract was coming up shortly and he has also been removed from the internal roster. The star was last seen on WWE TV a while ago and has not been present on screen in any capacity.
MVP was also reported to have been removed from the internal roster in WWE and is seemingly on the cusp of an exit.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that he heard that Bobby Lashley (along with MVP) is looking to reunite with Shelton Benjamin, who is already AEW bound, in Tony Khan's promotion after their WWE exit.
"I know that there is talk of them trying to get into AEW. It's one of those things where technically nobody can talk to them because I don't believe either's contract has expired, but their contracts are going to expire and they are, at this point, as things stand right now, WWE is under the assumption that they are gone and that they are going to try to revamp the Hurt Business. I don't know if they'll use that name or not, I guess it depends on the ownership of the name. They wanna get Shelton Benjamin who's also a free agent and revamp the group in AEW."
He added that all this would depend on AEW owner Tony Khan.
"Whether this happens or not, it depends on Tony Khan. But it's definitely something that is under consideration. I don't think it's a done deal or anything like that, but it's something that is alive."
Released WWE Superstar Dijak reacts to rumors of Bobby Lashley's departure from WWE
The rumors of Bobby Lashley leaving the Stamford-based promotion are rampant all over the internet. Former WWE star Dijak recently shared his comments on the matter. He immensely praised Lashley and his in-ring skills.
“As someone who got to work very closely with The Hurt Business, every single one of them is outstandingly talented and wonderful human beings as well.”
The 37-year-old star left WWE earlier this year after his contract was not renewed in the company. His final appearance in the promotion was on June 19 of Speed where he lost to The New Day member Xavier Woods in the Speed Championship Number One Contender's tournament.
