QT Marshall debunks long-standing AEW rumor involving Tony Khan
AEW star QT Marshall has debunked a rumor regarding the company and Tony Khan. He has been the company's Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination since February 2024. Before that, he wrestled in the promotion as well.
Since AEW's inception, Tony Khan has given creative freedom to his stars. However, a huge rumor has been floating around that the AEW President letting talent handle the situation is being compared to 'inmates running the asylum' as many believe the stars are too inexperienced to make creative decisions.
While speaking to Keeping It 100 OFFICIAL recently, QT Marshall revealed that many stars consult Tony Khan to discuss creative pitches. He also claimed that even the still-developing stars talk to him due to their 'open-door policy.'
"That the inmates run the asylum, like fully. The inmates running the asylum thing. There are talents that definitely talk to Tony (Khan) and they’ve earned that right to speak to him. Also, there are talents that probably haven’t, in my opinion, earned the right to talk to Tony, but his open door policy is almost too open. He’ll listen to them, sympathize and empathize, and he’ll make the best decision for the show," QT said. [H/T - RSN]
QT Marshall on his relationship with Tony Khan
QT Marshall has been involved in backstage duties for many years now. He also led a faction named The Factory.
While speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling, the 39-year-old star talked about their time during the pandemic era and claimed that he and Khan share a unique relationship.
"Tony and I have a very different relationship than many people do, he and I were in the trenches together during the pandemic, we were writing shows up till 7 am, and doing stuff," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Marshall returns to the squared circle in AEW.
