Rebel reveals the serious issue behind extended AEW absence: "I’ve kept this private until now"

AEW star Rebel has been absent from television for a notable amount of time. She has finally provided an update on her hiatus.

Rebel last wrestled in a tag team match where she teamed with Harley Cameron on a GLCW event in February this year. However, her last televised match for AEW was in August 2022. In a recent post on Instagram, the star provided an important update on her current condition.

On Instagram, Rebel revealed that she was hospitalized in May this year for pneumonia. She also noted how some other minor issues came up in the CT Scan. The All Elite star is hoping to take care of it all and get her health back on track by next year.

"Next year, expect a very fit birthday bikini pic. This year has not been what I expected. I’ve kept this private until now bc I believe I’m on the up. Thank you to the very few who knew what was going on and kept it private. And for those who didn’t know, I’ll spare you the details but in short, I was hospitalized in May for a good while bc they found a mass in my lung that they couldn’t figure out what it was, turns out it’s pneumonia. A couple of ct scans found some other minor issues that I am taking care of. I feel better every day, now that I am getting a handle on these things. cheers to another trip around the sun."

Rebel on working with Britt Baker in AEW

Britt Baker is a former AEW Women's World Champion and during her run with the gold, she was accompanied by Rebel who used to help her in her heelish tactics. In an episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast in 2021, Rebel revealed that she had fun teaming up with The D.M.D and noted how much she enjoyed it.

"The best part is like, just having so much fun with her. I think I'm this way like I think I would much rather tag with someone or be out there with my friends, because you can react with your friends, and you can talk with them. It's just so much more fun, instead of being out there by yourself. "

Britt Baker recently returned to All Elite Wrestling television. It will be interesting to see if the company reunites the duo once again when Rebel makes her full recovery.
