Released AEW star reacts to speculation about future move with a cryptic post
Former AEW star José García's career following his release from the company has been reasonably impressive. Called José the Assistant in the Jacksonville-based company, he is best known for managing Andrade El Idolo and La Facción Ingobernable. He reportedly began working for them in 2021 and left earlier this year.
In AEW, José García was called José the Assistant. The 38-year-old is currently active on the indie scene, most recently performing in the Canadian promotion, Alpha 1-Wrestling. He is now known as Jose The Assassin and holds the company's Outer Limits Championship. Interestingly, the owner of Alpha 1-Wrestling is WWE star and current NXT Champion, Ethan Page.
All Elite fans had taken quite a liking for García's 'The Assistant' gimmick. The wrestler is constantly asked if his old character will ever make a comeback, so he recently released a statement on X/T. In it, he revealed that he is fluent in Spanish, wears suits, and adores pro wrestling, hence, he is willing to make his return as Jose the Assistant on a TV show.
"Seems to be a lot of speculation about the future of “Jose The Assistant”. Seems like y’all want me to be a Manager, and quite a few names tossed around. Im fluent in Spanish, I like to wear suits, I love PRO wrestling. I wouldn’t mind returning to a TV show soon," he said.
Ex-AEW star Andrade El Idolo called José García his loyal friend
After José García's release from All Elite Wrestling, his on-screen client/current WWE Speed Champion, Andrade, released a heart-warming statement on X/Twitter, calling the 38-year-old his loyal friend.
"When you were my loyal friend!!! @JoseAssistant but you will always have a friend 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼. We had a great time! you were the one who saw my backstage," he said.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jose the Assistant.
