Renee Paquette reacts to 56-year-old WWE legend's heartfelt post about AEW runĀ

AEW announcer Renee Paquette shared her response to a legendary 56-year-old WWE veteran's recent social media post about his tenure in the Jacksonville-based company. The legend in question is none other than William Regal.

"Lord" William Regal made his All Elite Wrestling debut at Revolution 2022 after Jon Moxley's victory over Bryan Danielson, interrupting a brawl and then mediating an alliance between the two. This eventually led to the formation of the Blackpool Combat Club, a faction that has served as a dominant force in AEW programming over the past couple of years. Regal departed from the promotion after being brutally assaulted by newly-crowned AEW World Champion MJF, whom he had aided in dethroning the previous champion, Moxley, in a shocking heel turn at Full Gear 2022. William later confirmed his departure in a social media post in December of that year.

The 56-year-old legend returned to WWE in 2023, taking up the role of VP of Global Talent Development. Regal recently fired back against an X/Twitter user for insinuating that he "snaked out" on All Elite Wrestling, asserting that people from the Tony Khan-led company would corroborate his claim of having been in the promotion to sincerely help its talent and personnel without any ulterior or conflicting motives. He also provided clarification on having left the company after his deal officially expired.

Renee Paquette, the AEW interviewer and wife of Jon Moxley, took to X/Twitter to seemingly voice her agreement with William Regal's statement:

"100% true."

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the 56-year-old legend.

William Regal was recently referenced on AEW programming

Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli stunned fans in attendance at All Out 2024 when they turned against their Blackpool Combat Club teammate Bryan Danielson. The Purveyor of Violence shockingly suffocated the reigning AEW World Champion with a plastic bag after the latter was laid out by a sudden, unexpected uppercut from The Swiss Cyborg.

In a promo he delivered after his assault on Danielson, Moxley vaguely explained the motivations behind his recent actions. Notably, he seemed to imply that the version of the Blackpool Combat Club that he had founded with Danielson had failed in its mission, before declaring war against AEW and the "egos" that currently populate its locker room.

At one point during the promo, The Ace of the World alluded to William Regal, stating that while the latter considered Danielson to be the perfect wrestler, he saw a reflection of himself in Moxley. While refusing to call himself a "villain" like his mentor, Jon instead asserted that he was the "One True King" of All Elite Wrestling.

Jon Moxley will face Darby Allin at Grand Slam 2024 next week in a bid to wrest away the latter's AEW World Championship shot. It remains to be seen whether he will finally be confronted by The American Dragon at the special event.
