Retired wrestler seemingly vows to screw Bryan Danielson over in the Owen Hart Cup tournament in AEW

Bryan Danielson seems like he could be in trouble and that could come in the form of a retired wrestler. It would genuinely be a blast from the past if this does come to take place.

The star in question is none other than Nigel McGuiness. The AEW commentator and Danielson have a storied history from their time together in Ring of Honor and went head to head a few times for their respective titles.

Ever since Nigel took on commentary duty, he has constantly taken shots at Danielson. He did the same thing on last night’s Collision when the Blackpool Combat Club was in action. He said that if Bryan wins the Owen Hart Cup and goes on to win the AEW World Title at All In, then it would be his worst nightmare.

“Bryan Danielson has already declared for the Owen. His dream is to go to Wembley Stadium and win the AEW World Title. Let me make this perfectly clear... HIS DREAM IS MY NIGHTMARE.” [H/T - Twitter/Drainmaker]

Bryan Danielson wants to see Claudio Castagnoli become world champion

Bryan Danielson is very close with Claudio Castagnoli, and is more so because they belong to the same stable, the Blackpool Combat Club.

Castagnoli, for all his obvious talents, has never won the main prize in either WWE or AEW and Danielson has now revealed that he wants to see his friend win the world title before he retires. He was speaking in an interview with Sports Illustrated when he said:

“I would love to see Claudio as world champion. He’s one of the best I’ve ever been in the ring with."

The former WWE star has all the tools to be a top star in AEW and Danielson’s seal of approval only means that something big could be on the way for him.
