Ric Flair sends a message to MJF days after confirming his abrupt AEW departure
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently reacted to MJF's AEW International Title victory on Dynamite 250. The Nature Boy recently left the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, MJF successfully defeated Will Ospreay to become the new International Champion. The match went on for over 60 minutes and Friedman reverted to his old tactics by hitting Ospreay with the Dynamite Ring to capture the Championship.
On his X/Twitter account, Ric Flair congratulated MJF for his Title victory and called him a great talent.
"Congratulations @The_MJF On Becoming The International Champion! Once Again, Great Minds And Great Talent Think Alike! WOOOOO!"
Bully Ray has one problem with MJF and Will Ospreay's match at AEW Dynamite
Last night's AEW Dynamite's 250th episode opened with MJF and Will Ospreay battling out for the International Championship. The match was one of the longest matches in the company's short history. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray who is often seen giving his honest thoughts on the product has one major issue with the Championship match.
Speaking on his Busted Open podcast, former WWE Tag Team Champion noted how Ospreay and MJF were fighting outside the ring majority of the time. Ray claimed that it did not made any sense as it put the referee in a tough spot as he did not count out the competitors.
"All that does is put a glaring spotlight on the referee and the lackluster refereeing. It doesn't make sense, and for you people out there who think I'm nitpicking, this is not nitpicking. The referee is as important as the competitors. What's the point of having a referee if you want that [fighting outside the ring] to be able to happen? Just make it no disqualifications."
MJF has turned back to the character that made him famous in professional wrestling. It will be interesting to see how his International Championship reign plays through in the upcoming months.
