Ricky Starks lashes out at former WWE champion after heated comments
Ricky Starks lashed out at a former WWE champion in a heated conversation. The fans could talk about this for a few days.
The star in question is none other than Matt Cardona. Starks has not been seen in AEW since he and Big Bill lost the tag team titles to Sting and Darby Allin. Fans have made many demands to see him, but they have not been fulfilled.
However, it was announced earlier today that Ricky Starks will face Matt Cardona at a Game Changer Wrestling event on December 14. The former WWE United States Champion took a shot at Starks and said that Tommy Invincible deserved the spot over his opponent.
The former FTW Champion took exception to that comment and hit back, saying:
“Getting upstaged by me, man you really do follow in your idols footsteps.”
He was referencing Adam Copeland as he is one of Matt Cardona’s idols.
Ricky Starks claims he does not have an injury
Even since Ricky Starks has been away from the ring, many of his fans have wondered if it was because of an injury.
Ricky Starks took it upon himself to clarify the situation and said he was not out because of an injury. He was speaking on Highspots when he said:
“No (I’m not out of action due to injury). I’m healthy, I’m of sound mind and body. I’m capable to wrestle. Just, you know, not up to me. I get a lot of messages lately where people are like, ‘Hey, just checking in on you. Hope you’re doing well. Hope you’re mentally okay,’ and it’s so sweet. It means a lot to me because these people don’t know what’s going on, right?… But yeah, I get a lot of messages and every time I read ‘em, I tear up. Because people still — they care, you know? I love ‘em."
It will be interesting to see if and when he returns to AEW. Either way, it will be exciting to see him take on Matt Cardona next month.
