Ricky Starks sends a three-word message to AEW star amid unexplained absence

Ricky Starks has not been seen on AEW TV in a while. However, he is active on social media and recently sent a message to an AEW star.

Since his return to AEW, QT Marshall has been active behind the scenes. But he hasn't stepped into the ring. He hasn't competed in an AEW televised match since August 2023 when he faced Gravity for the AAA Latin American Title.

However, Marshall has been active behind the scenes as the Vice President of Show and Coordination. He was also instrumental in signing Big Boom A.J of the Costco Guys to a contract in the company. After signing the contract, Marshall teased a potential match between the two men.

AEW recently officially announced that Big Boom A.J. will face QT Marshall on the Zero Hour show for AEW Full Gear 2024. Just days before their match, Marshall took to social media to release a diss track on his opponent. This caught the attention of Ricky Starks who has been absent from AEW programming for a while. Starks positively responded to the diss track:

"impressive resume Quentin."

Ricky Starks recently revealed his AEW contract status

Ricky Starks hasn't wrestled on AEW TV since March 2024. His absence has puzzled fans for months since he was one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions earlier this year.

There have been rumors that he was injured but The Absolute debunked those. Then there were rumors about his contract status in the Jacksonville-based promotion. To add fuel to this fire, Starks has competed outside the promotion. He competed in BTW in May this year and is set to wrestle Kody Lane at a Glory Pro Wrestling event on November 24th. This caused many fans to wonder if he was still under contract at AEW.

During a recent interview with Weekend Joe, Starks clarified that he is still under contract at All Elite Wrestling but he is wrestling outside the promotion since he would go crazy just sitting at home:

"I can't be stuck at home for too much longer obviously I go stir crazy and I saw an opportunity with Kody Lane to come out and challenge for the title of course and I thought it was even a better idea because I used to actually live in St. Louis. I used to live in Melville of all places. So I thought it was a good way to make a return and also I've known Kody for quite a bit, he used to train here in Texas and I said well why not just come back and test the grit against somebody that I'm very much familiar with." It will be interesting to see when Ricky Starks will make his in-ring return to All Elite Wrestling.
