Ricochet has "a lot to prove" in AEW because of a major risk, according to wrestling journalist
A wrestling journalist feels former WWE Superstar Ricochet has a lot to prove in AEW. Dave Meltzer recently discussed The Human Highlight Reel's upcoming match on Wednesday.
Ricochet made his AEW debut at All In 2024 as part of the Casino Gauntlet Match. Since his arrival, the former United States Champion has had three singles matches on Dynamite, emerging victorious in all of those contests. However, many fans on the internet have been critical of the 35-year-old's bouts until now.
The Human Highlight Reel is set to square off against Will Ospreay on the fifth-anniversary episode of Dynamite this week. This will be the first one-on-one match between the two since August 2017.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Ricochet had much to prove in his match against Ospreay to avoid criticism from fans.
"Will [Ospreay] is a much better all-around wrestler [now] than the years that he wrestled Ricochet. I suspect that Ricochet obviously has a lot to prove right now, because if he doesn’t have a super match with Will people are gonna start saying stuff so he kinda has too," Meltzer said. Dave Meltzer believes the match on AEW Dynamite this week is going to good
Ricochet will challenge Will Ospreay for the International Championship on Wednesday. Fans expect the duo to deliver a remarkable match due to their impressive in-ring chemistry.
On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer predicted that the International Title bout on Dynamite would be "unbelievably good".
"I think this match is going to be unbelievably good, they’re gonna try a lot of stuff because they’re such physically talented guys."
Will Ospreay brought back the AEW International Championship after defeating MJF at All In 2024. It remains to be seen whether he can successfully defend his gold on Wednesday.
