Ricochet addresses the future of Prince Puma gimmick amid AEW debut rumors
Ricochet recently spoke about the prospect of reviving his old Prince Puma gimmick amidst rumors of his imminent AEW debut. The former WWE United States Champion performed under the aforementioned gimmick in Lucha Underground.
The Highlight of the Night recently finished up a six-year tenure in WWE after his contract with the Triple H-led promotion reportedly expired some time earlier. Furthermore, the former Intercontinental Champion is expected to be headed to AEW. As rumors continue to circulate regarding Ricochet's future in the pro-wrestling business, many have been speculating on the prospect of the 35-year-old star potentially dusting off his former gimmick of a masked luchador.
While he was signed with Lucha Underground, Ricochet competed as a wrestler dubbed Prince Puma. He squared off against several current AEW stars including Johnny TV, Brian Cage, and Rey Fenix - during his time in the promotion. Puma's last match in Lucha Underground was against former AEW World Tag Team and Trios Champion Penta El Zero Miedo in 2016. Penta defeated Puma in the bout, dethroning him for the Lucha Underground Title and ending his career in the company in the process as well.
Amidst conjecture about Ricochet's potential All Elite Wrestling arrival, a fan took to X/Twitter and asked The One and Only if he would return to being Prince Puma. Ricochet responded by voicing his uncertainty.
"I dunno, it's not my gimmick. It belongs to #LuchaUnderground," wrote Ricochet.

Ricochet recently clarified that he is not AEW star Hologram
After several weeks of teases in the form of cryptic video packages, All Elite Wrestling presented the debut of Hologram on last week's episode of Collision. The masked star impressed fans with his athleticism and in-ring prowess, defeating Gringo Loco in singles action at Arlington, Texas.
Fans have been speculating on the identity of the wrestler performing as Hologram since the very first teaser for the character was shared on social media. Although reports indicate that the star is actually former AAA talent Aramis, many were convinced that Ricochet was the individual behind the mask.
However, The Human Highlight Reel recently clarified that he was not wrestling as Hologram. Taking to X/Twitter, Ricochet pointed out the obvious differences between himself and Hologram.
"Everyone, unless I got major tattoo removal and lost a couple inches (please, I can't lose any more height, haha). This isn't me [laughing emoji] Shout out to them tho. They were killing it! [fire emoji x 2]," Ricochet wrote.
It remains to be seen if or when Ricochet joins AEW and whether his former rivals from WWE will follow suit.
