Ricochet addresses whether he's behind Hologram's mask after AEW Collision
AEW fans continue to wait patiently for the rumored arrival of Ricochet, now that he's done with WWE. In the meantime, new faces are joining the All Elite roster as we saw on Collision with the debut of Hologram. The One and Only recently responded to rumors and speculation on whether he is the man behind the gimmick.
The mysterious high-flyer Hologram made his All Elite Wrestling debut on Saturday's Collision at Esports Stadium in Arlington, TX. After weeks of teasers, the masked grappler defeated Gringo Loco in just over four minutes. There has been a lot of fan chatter about who performs as Hologram and one of the names discussed is Ricochet, who is still expected to debut with AEW after his WWE contract expired earlier this month.
The Future Of Flight took to X/Twitter recently to address the Hologram speculation. The 21-year veteran pointed out obvious differences between him and the newcomer and confirmed that he is not the man behind the gimmick. He then gave Hologram strong praise.
"Everyone, unless I got major tattoo removal and lost a couple inches (please, I can't lose any more height, haha). This isn't me [laughing emoji] Shout out to them tho. They were killing it! [fire emoji x 2]," Ricochet wrote.
WWE's inaugural Speed Champion has not wrestled since dropping the title to Andrade on June 7 before SmackDown. His last RAW bout came earlier that week when he was defeated by Bron Breakker. The son of Rick Steiner then destroyed Ricochet on the June 10 RAW to write him out of the company.
Who is behind AEW's Hologram gimmick?
All Elite Wrestling officially debuted the mysterious Hologram on Collision this past Saturday. The high-flyer defeated Gringo Loco and was a trending topic on social media.
Tony Khan reportedly came up with the Hologram idea around five years ago. The man behind the mask is believed to be Aramis. AEW previously signed the popular 25-year-old early on during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Khan had no plans to use him then and wanted to lock him up for the future.
Aramis' first run with AEW did not work out due to the pandemic, and officials let his deal expire. He was re-signed in February of this year and Saturday was his debut.
Aramis has appeared in numerous promotions since debuting in 2010, including AAA, GCW, TNA, PWG, PROGRESS Wrestling, The Crash, and MLW, among others. He is a former Warrior Wrestling Lucha Champion.
