Ricochet returns to his "second home" after five years

AEW star Ricochet has returned to his second home after being away for five years. The Highlight of the Night recently departed from WWE.

Ricochet signed with WWE in 2018 and stayed with the promotion until July 2024. In August, he joined AEW and showed up at All In. Signing with All Elite Wrestling also allows him to compete for other promotions. The One and Only made his return to Japan for the first time since 2017 for GLEAT promotion on October 6 where he reunited with CIMA to defeat El Hijo Del Vikingo and Soma Watanabe.

On X (fka Twitter), the former United States Champion reacted to his return to Japan and called it his second home.

"My second home."

AEW star Ricochet believes he only had one role in WWE

The 35-year-old arrived in WWE's NXT brand in 2018 and looked to have a promising run ahead. He captured the NXT North American Title in the former black and gold brand and was moved to the main roster in 2019 where he won the United States and Intercontinental Championships. However, the AEW star believes that his role was never to be the top guy in the promotion.

In a recent chat on Talk is Jericho, The Future of Flight claimed that he was there to help elevate guys like Bron Breakker, Drew McIntyre, Bronson Reed, and more to the main event status. The highflyer took the blame on himself for being put in the position.

"Guys, I never won, for one. So if I won and left, it would be weird. Two, it’s like, he [Bron Breakker] just started on RAW, they’re trying to make him a big threat, they’re trying to make him do something that’s dastardly. That was Ricochet’s role to take the moves from the people, that was always Ricochet’s role. It doesn’t matter if it was Braun [Strowman] or Drew [McIntyre] or whoever, you know what I mean? Bronson Reed, Shinsuke [Nakamura], to take their move. I’m gonna take their move. It is what it is, it was a blessing and a curse, I blame myself." [H/T - Fightful]

The One and Only will be looking to win his first title in AEW at WrestleDream as he faces International Champion Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita in a three-way match.
