Ricochet seemingly takes a shot at WWE booking before departure

Ricochet has seemingly taken a shot at his WWE booking right before his departure on an AEW show. This will no doubt get the fans talking.

The former WWE star decided to leave the company after his contract expired in June. He made his AEW debut at All In at Wembley Stadium in August where he showed up at the Casino Gauntlet Match. Since then, he has been steadily rising in the ranks in his new company and seems to be enjoying his time.

He recently appeared on Hey! (EW) with RJ City and spoke candidly about a lot of things. He then took to X/Twitter to send out a message to the AEW fans expressing how much fun he was having right now. By doing this, he seemingly took a clear shot at his WWE booking.

He wrote:

“Haven't had this much fun in a while!”

Ricochet blames himself for his WWE run

Ricochet is clearly a talented wrestler but many fans feel he was criminally underutilized during his time in WWE. He did win the United States and Intercontinental Championships but they failed to propel him into the main event scene.

On a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, he spoke about his run in WWE and partially blamed himself and called it both a blessing and a curse.

"Guys, I never won, for one. So if I won and left, it would be weird. Two, it’s like, he [Bron Breakker] just started on RAW, they’re trying to make him a big threat, they’re trying to make him do something that’s dastardly. That was Ricochet’s role to take the moves from the people, that was always Ricochet’s role. It doesn’t matter if it was Braun [Strowman] or Drew [McIntyre] or whoever, you know what I mean? Bronson Reed, Shinsuke [Nakamura], to take their move. I’m gonna take their move. It is what it is, it was a blessing and a curse, I blame myself."

With him being in AEW now, it will be interesting to see how he will be able to reach his goals given that he was supposedly not afforded the time to do the same in his former company.
