Ricochet to turn heel and win the AEW World Championship after aligning with major star, says WWE veteran (Exclusive)
A former WWE personality has made a bold prediction about Ricochet potentially turning heel and winning the AEW World Championship. Vince Russo feels Ricochet could be joined by Samantha Irvin and the two could turn heel.
Ever since Irvin announced her WWE exit on October 21, there's been rampant speculation about what her future could hold. Some fans believe Irvin was destined to join AEW and align with her fiance, Ricochet. However, the former US Champion had recently claimed that Irvin had no interest in joining the company.
Amid this, Vince Russo and EC3 discussed her future on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws. The two also spoke about how AEW could renew a feud between Will Ospreay and Ricochet after their recent one-off match.
Russo then pitched an idea inspired by the iconic boxing movie, Rocky 3. He explained that if Will Ospreay wins the AEW World Title down the line, he could be challenged by Ricochet. Vince Russo added that he could then be joined by Samantha Irvin and the two could turn heel and "screw" Ospreay to win the gold.
"I think what you do Chris is, and I think this would be a nice swerve. You remember when Rocky lost to Clubber Lang? And remember the scene on the beach with his wife? Replay that. You let her (Samantha Irvin) bring his (Ricochet) spirits up, she's like the wind beneath his wings, and then you get to the big match and they screw the guy. That's what you do. Right there bro," said Vince Russo. (8:56 - 9:32)

Vince Russo exchanged messages with Samantha Irvin after her WWE exit
Elsewhere in the episode, Vince Russo spoke about how he exchanged a few messages with Samantha Irvin following her departure from WWE. Russo added that the promotion should have allowed the 35-year-old star to perform other roles in the company since she had aced her job as a ring announcer.
"I exchanged DMs with her yesterday because she thanked me for my comments. I said if I was working there when she was a ring announcer and she was so good at ring announcing and she'd come to me and say, 'Hey Vince, I would like to be a manager,' I would have made that happen," said Vince Russo.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead for Irvin, with many believing she could pursue her music dreams. A potential AEW run cannot be ruled out, too.
