Rising star signed with AEW despite interest from WWE, reveals Dax Harwood
Dax Harwood (FKA Scott Dawson) has revealed that WWE had a great interest in a 23-year-old star following his AEW debut three months ago. This would be "Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington.
Billington is the nephew of the original Dynamite Kid, a wrestling icon in the 1980s and one-half of The British Bulldogs alongside Davey Boy Smith. At the time, he also feuded with Bret Hart. The current "Dynamite Kid" debuted in AEW against Dax Harwood in Collision in May. He has also faced off against Konosuke Takeshita but failed to win.
During his Instagram Live earlier tonight, Dax Harwood talked about how Tommy Billington was offered a contract during the night of his debut. He also mentioned that WWE asked around about him following his match. As recent reports suggest, the British star chose Tony Khan's company and reportedly signed with them.

The second-generation star got to watch his AEW debut match with Bret Hart
A few days after his debut, Tommy Billington got to look back at this moment with WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, someone with whom his family shared a lot of history.
He posted on his Instagram account, and it looked like they were also studying the footage. Coincidentally, Dax Harwood, whom he was facing off with in the match, was also a big fan of Hart and has been very vocal about this.
Although his move has not yet been made official by AEW, should he officially be on board with the company, he'll be one of the young talents that many will keep their eyes on. Although splitting his first two matches, he'll have more chances to show his skills in the ring in the coming months and years.
