Roddy Piper's promo skills and charisma made him an audience magnet, says multi-time WWE champion

A former WWE champion heaped praise on Roddy Piper and his character work. The star being discussed is Chris Jericho.

The Ocho has been one of the biggest heels in AEW right now. After a prominent run in WWE, he started working in the Jacksonville-based promotion as Le Champion and was a huge heel champ in the early days. He has been a villain for most of his AEW and WWE run. He recently commented on the late great Roddy Piper's genius heel work.

The WWE Hall of Famer is considered to be an all-time great heel. He drew massive heat from the crowd, helping the babyface get cheered. While speaking with Adam Carolla, the Learning Tree called Roddy 'one of the best' at being a bad guy because of his immense charisma and personality.

"If you're a great character in wrestling, it really lends itself to movies and TV and film, because that's the basis of what wrestling is. He was the type of guy that could sell tickets by the promos. The personality and charisma and all those sort of things is what really matters in wrestling; Roddy was one of the best at it," he said. Adam Copeland revealed Roddy Piper changed his life

The Rated-R Superstar has been All Elite since October 2023 but is sadly injured for five months. While he is a babyface in AEW, Copeland was a great heel in WWE for many years.

Last year, Adam Copeland revealed that the Rowdy star introduced him to pro wrestling as he saw the legend while changing TV channels.

"And of course the man who introduced me to what this crazy pro wrestling thing was while flipping the channels, Roddy Piper. He changed the course of my life so to share a ring with him? C'mon," he wrote.

It will be interesting to see if Chris Jericho follows Roddy's footsteps and becomes a WWE Hall of Famer.
