Samantha Irvin confirms speculation about potential AEW move after leaving WWE
Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin has seemingly confirmed a rumor about her potential future with AEW. She recently announced her departure from the Stamford-based promotion.
On social media, Samantha Irvin recently shared an emotional message, confirming her exit from WWE. Irvin's sudden departure surprised a lot of fans, and it resulted in a huge social media discourse. Many have been speculating whether the 35-year-old left to join her fiance, Ricochet, in AEW as a ring announcer.
Irvin recently revealed on social media that she left the Stamford-based promotion because she wasn't getting opportunities beyond ring announcing. A fan on X/Twitter asked the former RAW ring announcer to join AEW so she could perform various roles besides ring announcing.
Irvin took notice of the suggestion by the fan and reacted to it by seemingly making it clear that she wouldn't join All Elite Wrestling after parting ways with the global juggernaut.
"If I’m not at WWE, I’m not in the wrestling business," Irvin wrote.
Samantha Irvin on whether she enjoyed her job in WWE
Recently, a fan on social media asked Samantha Irvin whether she hated her job as RAW's ring announcer. In response, Irvin mentioned that while she didn't enjoy announcing, she didn't hate it either.
"I didn’t say I hated doing it. I said I don’t like announcing. Meaning if I continued at WWE, I would like to not be the announcer and learn to do something else. I loved every moment I was there. But the fact that people are so upset that I don’t want to announce shows me I made the right decision because it is only a role I did, not who I am."
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Irvin following her recent WWE departure. She is widely expected to pursue a non-pro wrestling venture in the coming months.
