Samantha Irvin issues clarification on her fiance Ricochet after shocking tweets surface
Samantha Irvin recently took to X/Twitter to issue a clarification after several anti-WWE tweets began doing the rounds on the internet under Ricochet's name. The former RAW broadcaster made it clear those posts weren't made by her fiance.
Pro wrestlers have vast fan followings and have, from time to time, been victims of campaigns trying to malign them, including fake social media profiles being created in an attempt to scam people. A few hours ago, several explicit anti-WWE tweets under AEW star Ricochet's name began circulating on social media.
The former United States Champion soon responded to the tweets, saying they were fake. His fiance and ex-WWE name, Samantha Irvin, too, updated her followers about the false posts. Check it out here.
"Fake tweets," wrote Samantha Irvin.
Ricochet on his decision to leave WWE for AEW
A few days ago, in a chat with Chris Van Vliet, Ricochet discussed how during his final days in WWE, he felt he had already accomplished everything he could. The AEW star explained that he couldn't see himself climbing up the pecking order anymore in the coming years and felt it was the right time to try his luck elsewhere.
"But I still feel like I was starting over again. I felt like I was starting over with the Bron Breakkers and the Iljas and the Carmelos and the new guys just coming in. I feel like Ricochet was with those guys coming back in, it’s like, 'Man, I’ve already been here for five or six years, I want to be doing something else.'"
The One and Only has been on a great run in AEW, where he hasn't lost any singles matches. On last week's episode of Dynamite, he introduced Powerhouse Hobbs as his mystery partner and the two defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. The 36-year-old star also competed twice for the AEW International Championship but couldn't get to the finish line on both occasions.
