Samoa Joe bags massive gig outside AEW during in-ring absence

The former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is slated to appear in an upcoming video game offering of a popular game franchise. Joe has been absent from Tony Khan's promotion for quite some time now.

Samoa Joe has been a part of AEW since 2022. He also had a run in the WWE from 2015 to 2021. However, Joe had gained prominence during his time in TNA prior to that. After losing the All Elite World Title at the Dynasty Pay-Per-View earlier this year, The Samoan Submission Machine is yet to be involved in a major storyline.

Joe last wrestled on an episode of Dynamite in July where he was defeated by Chris Jericho in a Stampede Street Fight Match. Amid his absence from Tony Khan's promotion, the former AEW World Champion has been busy with other projects. Joe is set to appear in an upcoming video game.

It was recently revealed that Joe will appear in a video game titled "Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii." The game is set to release in February 2025.

Samoa Joe on whether he is open to feud with an AEW star of his choosing

Samoa Joe has had multiple feuds since he moved to AEW and there are more to come. During his appearance on Terrificon recently, Samoa Joe refused the idea of having a match with someone of his choosing:

"Because that's what I'm interested in doing. I really have zero interest in doing a match with somebody just because they're skilled or that I think it could be a great match. No. At this point, with what time I have left in my career, I want to dedicate that time to what fans want, not what I want," Joe admitted.

Only time will tell when The Samoan Submission Machine makes his return and what Tony Khan has in store for him.
