Shane McMahon secretly met with AEW President Tony Khan for one big reason, current WWE personality speculates

On Booker T's recent appearance on The Hall of Fame Podcast, the 59-year-old opened up on the meeting between Shane McMahon and AEW founder/co-owner Tony Khan. The former Hardcore Champion has been rumored to join the Jacksonville-based promotion for a while now. Furthermore, a photo of him and Khan's meeting got leaked on the internet, and this has only added fuel to the fire.

Interestingly, Booker T is not remotely surprised by the news of the meeting mentioned above. According to him, anything is possible in the world of wrestling. Moreover, he believes that its purpose was for Khan to receive some special knowledge to run his business.

"Nothing surprises me in this business, it really doesn’t. Could I believe that Tony Khan reached out to Shane McMahon perhaps for some expert knowledge, expertise, perhaps a way to run the business? I could see that. It’s all about trying to move to the next level. Does Shane McMahon need a check? I don’t think so,” he said. (H/T Inside the Ropes)

When Booker T was an active professional wrestler, he performed in popular promotions such as WCW, WWE, and TNA.

WWE veteran Dutch Mantel said that he would start watching AEW if Shane McMahon joined them

In a recent appearance on the Sportskeeda WrestleBinge program "Smack Talk", Dutch Mantel felt that the picture of the meeting between Khan and McMahon was not leaked. He speculated that it was planned by the company and added that if the former European Champion did go to AEW, he would begin following their programs.

"Say Shane did go into AEW, that would want to make me watch it. To see what they do. Because if they f*ck that up, it's their fault. But I don't think Shane would let them mess it up that bad. But I'd be interested to see what he would do," said Dutch Mantell." [5:12 - 5:32]

Fans will have to stay tuned to see whether Shane McMahon will actually make his AEW debut at All In 2024.
