Shelton Benjamin's post AEW Full Gear opponent revealed

AEW star Shelton Benjamin will be involved in a blockbuster match after Full Gear. The star he will be facing is 'Speedball' Mike Bailey.

The 34-year-old is one of the many talented stars in TNA and recently lost his TNA X Division Championship to Moose. Fans highly praised his match against the AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.

The Standard of Excellence debuted in the Jacksonville-based promotion on October 2, 2024. He was introduced as MVP's business associate. After Bobby Lashley became All Elite, the trio was officially called the Hurt Syndicate. So far, Shelton defeated Sammy Guevara and Lio Rush.

While his stablemate Bobby Lashley is scheduled to face Swerve Strickland at Full Gear, it is unsure if Shelton Benjamin will be scheduled on the card. Shelton and Mike will face each other a week after the event at WrestleCade SuperShow.

Shelton Benjamin reveals why he chose AEW over other major promotions

WWE released the Standard of Excellence in September 2023. He worked in various independent matches until he became All Elite.

While speaking with GabbyAF, Shelton Benjamin revealed that he signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion following WWE's release because he believed AEW had the biggest audience after the global sports entertainment juggernaut.

"What it boils down to is, I want the biggest possible audience. Outside of WWE, there is nowhere bigger than AEW. I don’t have as much time as lot of guys, as far as in-ring. Not that I’m going to retire anytime soon, but for the time I have left, I want to reach the biggest possible audience. What better place than AEW? There is no better place," he said.

It will be interesting to see if Benjamin is at ringside during the All Mighty's bout at Full Gear.
