Shinsuke Nakamura has seemingly chosen the next 'King of Strong Style'
Shinsuke Nakamura is known fondly as the "King of Strong Style". It now appears as if he has chosen the next person to carry forward this moniker.
Konosuke Takeshita has been a fast-rising Japanese prospect for quite a while now. After turning a lot of heads with his in-ring skills, he made his way to AEW where he has really grown as a wrestler due to his association with Don Callis. Takeshita has even faced some of the biggest names in the business like Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, and Bryan Danielson.
Takeshita is currently competing in the G1 Climax in NJPW where he is part of Block B along with El Phantasmo, Hirooki Goto, Yota Tsuji, Yuya Uemura, Jeff Cobb, HENARE, David Finlay, Ren Narita, and Oleg Boltin. Tonight, Takeshita competed against and defeated HENARE in his G1 Climax match.
Following the match, Konosuke Takeshita told reporters that he has a mentor in America who has entrusted him with leading the way with strong style. While the Japanese sensation didn't specifically mention who his mentor was, it can be deduced that his mentor is Shinsuke Nakamura who is known as the King of Strong Style.
"I have a mentor in America. That mentor has entrusted me with leading the way in the world of professional wrestling. In fact, he's entrusted me with the strong style. Who is that mentor? I can't tell you yet. Yaaaao!"
Shinsuke Nakamura catches up with Minoru Suzuki
WWE recently toured Japan where they held numerous house shows. Even Nakamura who hasn't been seen on WWE television in a while was part of these shows. During his time in Japan, Nakamura caught up with some old colleagues.
Nakamura also recently caught up with Minoru Suzuki when the latter arrived in Orlando. Suzuki posted a few pictures of their outing to social media.
"Shinsuke Nakamura. Two of us went to a Mexican restaurant with the 'World's Cincena Camura' @shinsukenakamura who picked me up at the Orlando Airport. Had a great time with a wide range of topics from past to present! I haven't changed much from a long time ago. Margaritas for a Mexican restaurant are delicious! When they say and drink... Well this was a big size and it felt like a margarita lol" Suzuki posted. [Translated on Instagram]
It remains to be seen when Nakamura will make his return back to WWE television.
