SPOILER: AEW Dynamite tapings disrupted by fan throwing toilet paper at talent
Following the events on AEW Collision which saw toilet paper being thrown during a match, it seems that a similar incident happened in another match. This was again during a bout that involved Ricochet on a taping of Dynamite at the same venue.
Tony Khan has booked the Hammerstein Ballroom for the next set of AEW, and ROH shows. Over the weekend, the Final Battle pay-per-view, and this week's edition of Collision were featured in the legendary venue. The upcoming episodes of Dynamite and Rampage will also be in the same venue and will be taped in advance.
Last night, as Ricochet made his entrance for his bout with Will Ospreay, fans began throwing toilet paper in the ring instead of streamers. They also booed him, and he retaliated by throwing these rolls back at them. A fan in attendance for the AEW show's tapings revealed that the same thing happened in his match with Darby Allin as well.
They revealed that this happened post-match. It was also mentioned how the toilet paper rolls hit the former WWE Superstar directly, and that there was real heat with the fans.
The AEW star got into a heated exchange with Will Ospreay later in the night
Last night on AEW Collision, Ricochet got more heat from the fans after he allegedly cheated during the match to get a win over Will Ospreay. At a point in the match, he kicked the referee Stephon Smith into the middle rope which in return knocked over Ospreay, who was climbing the ropes. This allowed him to hit the Spirit Gun for a three-count.
The Aerial Assassin had no knowledge that this happened and later on in the night, he approached Smith and mentioned how this cost him the match. He found out from him that he felt like he was pushed from behind. This was evidence that his opponent used dirty tactics and he confronted him.
Ospreay accused him of employing these out of desperation as Ricochet knew that he was better, and things got more heated between them. After saying his piece, the British star just turned away, a sign that things weren't seemingly over between the two high-flying stars.
Mathematically, Ricochet is in a much better position in the AEW Continental Classic as a win or draw with Darby Allin will guarantee him a spot in the semi-finals. As for Will Ospreay, he isn't out just yet, but he'll have to win his match with Brody King, and hope Claudio Castagnoli loses for him to stay alive in the tournament.
