Sting heaps praise on 28-year-old star, compares him to WWE Hall of Famer
Sting has endorsed a lot of stars throughout his iconic career, and he has recently added another name to that list.
The WCW Icon received a special message from none other than a member of the Don Callis Family from none other than 28-year-old Konosuke Takeshita.
In his post, Takeshita praised the star, thanking him and Great Muta for inspiring him as a child.
Sting showed his appreciation and replied to that post to sing praises of the young Japanese star and compared him to WWE Hall of Famer The Great Muta.
“Another Great Muta in the making. He has all the tools, for sure," he wrote.
With an endorsement as glowing as that, the only way for Takeshita is up, and the best part is he is only getting started in AEW.
Tony Schiavone reveals Sting was called “an idiot” by AEW employee
Sting shocked everyone when he hit the Scorpion Death Drop on Powerhouse Hobbs off the top of a stage on Dynamite this week. He and Darby Allin took on Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita in the main event.
The spot made every fan inside the arena squirm, and they had their heart in their mouths, given the Icon’s age. Tony Schiavone was a guest on the Rock 106.1 radio show when he revealed that referee Bryce Remsburg immediately checked on the veteran and told him off.
“You're an idiot, you know that, don't you? You don't have to do this. Fans love you. You don't have to do this,” Schiavone recalled the interaction.
Despite all that, the WWE Hall of Famer got back up and finished the match strong, on the winning side alongside Darby Allin.
