"Stupid, meaningless, and silly" - Jim Cornette slams Tony Khan for major angle on AEW Dynamite

Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette blasted AEW President, Tony Khan, for a big match on Dynamite. The match took place last Wednesday between two veterans.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson squared off against the WWE Hall of Famer, Jeff Jarrett in an Anything Goes match. The match was set up after a buildup for the past few weeks and it featured several spots in the main event.

Wrestling veteran, Jim Cornette called out Tony Khan for booking an Anything Goes match between Jarrett and Danielson. Speaking on his Drive Thru podcast, Cornette took a shot at how the match on Dynamite last week was set up:

"If you just said Bryan Danielson's gonna wrestle Jeff Jarrett I'd say, 'Hey, I want to see that, I think that'll be good right?' Two professionals, but Tony Khan got a hold of it. So a few weeks ago Jeff Jarrett came in and gave Bryan Danielson a babyface pep talk and the promo was so good they say it was the talk of the internet. [...] He was mad at Jeff last week for trying to give him a pep talk so he said, 'Well let's see if you can tell how ready I am next week.'"

Cornette further deemed the match between Danielson and Jarrett garbage and meaningless:

"So now instead of having a match where Jeff is trying to motivate and bring out the best in Bryan Danielson, they have an Anything Goes match, so that Jeff can do the same thing. [...] So the whole thing is you've already established Jeff as a babyface and they could've had a match but instead they gotta have the garbage wrestling, the Anything Goes and they gotta make it stupid, meaningless, and silly."
