Surprising details on the accidental unmasking of a 52-year-old legend in AEW - Reports
A wrestling legend was accidentally unmasked in AEW recently. New details have come to light about his unmasking.
Ultimo Guerrero is a legend in Mexico. He is known for his in-ring skills and is widely regarded as one of the greatest luchadors of all time. Hence, when a match between Guerrero and Kazuchika Okada was announced for this week's Collision, fans were ecstatic.
However, the match turned out to be less than what fans expected. Both men weren't able to deliver the standout performances that they were capable of due to Ultimo Guerrero's constant unmasking. His mask kept coming off during the bout and he had to fix it many times. As a result, both men couldn't perform any spots which resulted in a below-par match.
The Cubs Fan is now reporting that Tony Khan advertised Ultimo Guerrero as a masked wrestler despite him not wearing a mask for ten years. Even Ultimo reportedly didn't know he was wearing a mask when he got to the arena and they had to scramble to find one for him. As a result, the mask was not suitable for him and kept on coming off.
Buddy Matthews was written off TV on AEW Collision due to a personal reason
This week on Collision the House of Black faced off against the Bang Bang Gang in trios action. During the match, Buddy Matthews seemingly got injured and was escorted to the back.
PWInsider has since confirmed that Buddy's injury was part of kayfabe as he will be taking time off from AEW TV to attend a family event in Australia along with his fiancee Rhea Ripley. There is still no confirmation about when he is expected to return.
It will be interesting to see when Buddy Matthews will choose to make his in-ring return after this "injury."
