Surprising spoiler on Buddy Matthews' AEW return

A spoiler has been provided for the former AEW World Trios champion, Buddy Matthews' return to Tony Khan's promotion after June. He has been out of action for nearly two months.

Buddy Matthews last appeared on the June 15, 2024, edition of AEW Collision. He teamed up with Malakai Black and Brody King to face the Bang Bang gang. During the trios match, Matthews seemingly hurt his knee and was taken to the back by the medical team, and he has been off television since then.

It was later reported that Buddy would be absent due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, Matthews finally made his anticipated return on this week's AEW Collision tapings. A fan present in the arena leaked the picture of Matthews' return on the Saturday show and posted it on social media as well.

Speaking of Buddy's return, on this week's Collision, which will air on August 3, 2024, the House of Black faction, including Malakai Black, Brody King, and Matthews, interrupted Christian Cage. During the interruption, Cage was awarding the trios title to Nick Wayne and Mother Wayne, leaving out Killswitch. The Bang Bang Gang also appeared during the segment.

Buddy Matthews tied the knot with the top WWE Superstar

Amid his absence from AEW television for the past several weeks, Buddy Matthews traveled to his home country, Australia, along with his fiance and top WWE Superstar, Rhea Ripley. The Eradicator had been absent from television due to an injury as well.

Amid their time away from pro wrestling, the couple officially tied the knot and are now married to each other. Ripley took to her Instagram to share the picture from their marriage ceremony with the following caption:

"Till death. 23.06.24"

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley returned to WWE after her wedding and is set to challenge Liv Morgan for the women's world title at Summerslam. It remains to be seen who will walk out as the champion.
