Swerve Strickland confronts former WWE United States Champion; major feud teased

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland crossed paths with a former WWE United States Champion and an old rival on Dynamite: Holiday Bash. Ricochet, the talent being alluded to, last faced The New Flavor one-on-one over seven years ago.

The One and Only had a strange night this Wednesday, as he was roughhoused by Bobby Lashley and berated by MVP, who seemingly withdrew their offer to him to join The Hurt Syndicate. However, Ricochet opted to table the subject during a backstage interview with Renee Paquette instead to address his upcoming Continental Classic bout with Will Ospreay.

However, the high-flyer then ran into none other than fellow former WWE Superstar Swerve Strickland, alongside his manager Prince Nana. The Realest taunted Ricochet for supposedly still being a "follower." However, the latter fired back by reminding Swerve of his failure at winning the C2 last year before promising to do it himself this year.

The timing of the confrontation is interesting, seeing how Strickland has unfinished business with Bobby Lashley, who defeated the former AEW World Champion in singles action at Full Gear 2024.

It remains to be seen whether and when the former WWE Intercontinental Champion will lock horns with Swerve in All Elite Wrestling.
