Swerve Strickland reacts after MVP tries to steal him from Prince Nana
Swerve Strickland has reacted to MVP's AEW debut at Dynamite: Grand Slam. The former WWE personality confronted Prince Nana on the show and seemingly extended an offer to The New Flavor.
Rumors about MVP and Bobby Lashley potentially reuniting The Hurt Business in the Tony Khan-led promotion have been making the rounds for some time now. The speculations strengthened after Fightful Select reported that The Almighty, his manager, and their stablemate Shelton Benjamin had talks with AEW.
On the 2024 edition of Dynamite: Grand Slam, Prince Nana revealed that Swerve Strickland is still recovering from his Lights Out Steel Cage match against Hangman Page at All Out 2024, albeit working hard to return to action.
Before he could say more, the 45-year-old personality was interrupted by the unexpected debut of MVP. The Franchise Playa agreed with Nana's description of Strickland as the most dangerous competitor of All Elite Wrestling, praising the latter's AEW World Title reign and his victories over the likes of Samoa Joe and Will Ospreay.
However, MVP then criticized Nana for being an inadequate manager, and left him his business card to relay to Swerve in case the latter wanted to "talk business". Strickland recently took to X/Twitter to post a photograph of Prince Nana sipping coffee.
The tweet had no captions, leaving the implications of the post somewhat ambiguous. However, he could be showing his manager support after the latter was called out for supposedly prioritizing the promotion of his coffee brand over serving in his managerial duties.
Swerve Strickland may be back for AEW's next pay-per-view
Swerve Strickland went through a hellacious war with Hangman Adam Page at All Out earlier this month. The Cowboy emerged victorious in their uncomfortably violent match, finally scoring a win over the former AEW World Champion after clobbering him with a steel chair.
Since then, Strickland has remained absent from All Elite programming, with many speculating on his status for the promotion's upcoming pay-per-view, WrestleDream 2024. However, a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has claimed that Swerve will return to All Elite Wrestling earlier than he was expected to and is likely going to appear at WrestleDream in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington.
"Swerve Strickland will be back in AEW sooner than originally expected, likely working the WrestleDream Tacoma Dome show."
It remains to be seen what lies next for Swerve Strickland and whether he will ally with MVP and the rumored Hurt Syndicate.
