Tag team suddenly resurfaces in AEW after more than a year; show up backstage at Summer Blockbuster 2025

AEW Summer Blockbuster saw a major tag team return after over a year. The returning duo issued a major challenge backstage. The WorkHorsemen have been one of the hardest-working and most underrated tag teams. Anthony Henry and JD Drake are known for delivering top-notch matches every time they step into the squared circle.

Unfortunately, The WorkHorsemen have been dealing with injuries for most of the past year. JD Drake injured his leg in May 2024. While fans were upset that one half of The WorkHorsemen sustained injuries, Anthony Henry suffered a torn biceps in October last year while wrestling Gabe Kidd at the ROH tapings. The duo finally appeared on AEW TV after May 2024 tonight.

At AEW Summer Blockbuster, Big Bill and Bryan Keith were interviewed backstage, where the duo discussed their dominating victory over Gates of Agony. After Bill called out tag teams wanting to step up, they were confronted by The WorkHorsemen. The duo engaged in a heated argument, and it seems a match between them will happen soon.

The bout has yet to be made official, but fans are eagerly anticipating The WorkHorsemen's return to the squared circle. It will be interesting to see which tag team will emerge victorious when these four goliaths face off.
