Taz delivers serious statement to fans hours before AEW Full Gear 2024
AEW Full Gear 2024 has arrived, and a major night of wrestling is in store for fans. However, some have been critical of a matchup scheduled for the Zero Hour pre-show pitting QT Marshall against "Big Boom" AJ. All Elite Wrestling commentator Taz has now spoken out against the backlash.
QT Marshall hasn't wrestled on All Elite television since August 2023. He currently serves as the company's Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination, but he portrayed a villainous character on television throughout the promotion's first few years. His opponent for AEW Full Gear, "Big Boom" AJ of the Costco Guys, is a veteran professional wrestler but has primarily made his name as a content creator on TikTok.
A contingent of AEW fans are unhappy about AJ getting TV time and a match at a major pay-per-view, even if it's just on the pre-show. However, Taz believes it's good for business, and he opened up to the disgruntled fans with a message on Twitter/X:
"It’s still amazes me as the build towards tonight’s #AEWFullGear ppv show… some hardcore fans are still confused or bitching & crying moaning. that the Costco guy has a match. Wake up… This guy has a huge reach which basically means he has a massive following of millions. Fresh eyes folks!!! it’s all about the casuals… it’s smart business. It’s not about “bangers”."
Updated card for AEW Full Gear 2024
AEW Full Gear 2024 is just hours away, and the sixth edition of the November pay-per-view could change the landscape of All Elite Wrestling. Despite being stacked with high-stakes matches, the card isn't quite as packed as AEW's usual offerings.
Jon Moxley and his Death Riders have been running wild on TV, and tonight could be Orange Cassidy's only chance to stop them. Elsewhere, Private Party has breathed new life into the promotion's tag team division, but they're faced with three other hungry teams in a four-way tag match.
Here is the final card for AEW Full Gear 2024:
- ZERO HOUR pre-show: "Big BOOM" AJ vs. Q.T. Marshall
- MJF vs. Roderick Strong
- Jay White vs. "Hangman" Adam Page
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: Private Party (c) vs. The Outrunners vs. Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black and Brody King) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster)
- AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Kris Statlander
- AEW International Championship: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Ricochet

With the Continental Classic tournament about to start and AEW's new deal with WBD taking effect in January, this is an important time for Tony Khan's promotion. Fans should expect some major developments at Full Gear and in the following weeks.
